We really enjoyed our stay at this adults only campground. They do a very good job of keeping everything clean and maintained. The grounds were very nice. We would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for peace and quite.
Overall the park seemed nice. The staff was friendly. However my rating is based on our stay at camp site #83. It was supposed to be a 50 amp prime site, the most sought after. The camp ground was very empty (we stayed after Labor Day) so we could have been placed in any number of sites. We were assigned a site that had two fire rings one was filled with trash when we arrived, the next day someone took the ring leaving the pile of trash. We asked to have someone clean it, no one bothered. To make matters worse our site had a very active yellow jacket bees nest under the slab where our hook up's were located. The dirt pad that we parked on had sunk to the point that our bottom step was two inches from the ground a real ankle bender. I could go on but I won't.
Clean and well maintained. Lower sites are muddy when it rains, our site drained fast, but it was a mud mess to get backed in. Located close enough to I-81 that you can hear it in the distance. The grounds were very nice and if it weren't for the main road it would have been peaceful. US-11 is really loud. We did not get one (stayed three) nights sound sleep due to the unbelievably ridiculous drivers. They would come and go from the road across the street, all night. Peeling wheels, skidding, racing engines, motorcycles, trucks and cars with really loud mufflers. Most sites are designed for people to come and go, for a one night stay it would have been fine. Priced fairly. If it weren't for the noise I would have given it an eight.
We really enjoyed this campground even though we were there before peak season. You can see the Ocean City boardwalk rides from the fishing pier. The campsites aren't to close together, mostly wooded. Beautiful views of the bay. Very good location. Even our nineteen year old daughter enjoyed it. We hope to go back soon.
We stayed in the Tulip Loop with full hook ups. The electric is a total of 50 amps, but no place to plug in a 50 amp cord; we had to convert to 30 amps. The sites are beautiful, lots of space, nice picnic table and campfire ring with grate. We spotted a couple of Bald Eagles along the Periwinkle Point Trail and were entertained by a couple of foxes outside of our rear living window one morning. May is off season so nothing was open during the week, but we still found it to be a wonderful place and would go back.
This was the first time we have ever RV'd or camped. The folks at KOA were very helpful, even strolled by later to make sure we were okay. The bathrooms were clean, the camp store had everything you could need. We did have issues leveling our unit because one side of our "level" site was about one foot lower then the other (a rut had formed on the downhill side of the pull-through). The waste hookup was uphill on our site, you needed a support for the waste hose in order to use it properly, so we used the restrooms on this trip. We would go back, had a great time.
